
Fire Safety Fundamentals and Proper Use of Fire Extinguishers
Course Summary : The UAE Federal Law No. 505 requires all companies to provide adequate training in fire awareness on the basics of preventive fire safety and firefighting which must be completed every two years in order to obtain a certificate stating that preventive safety requirements are met by a recognized DCD-approved provider.
OSHA 1910.157(g)(1) states that “Where the employer has provided portable fire extinguishers for employee use in the workplace, the employer shall also provide an educational program to familiarize employees with the general principles of fire extinguisher use and the hazards involved with incipient stage fire-fighting.”
Course Objective
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Discuss the fire triangle and its relation to fire and explosion
• Identify combustible materials and control ignition sources
• State the principle of extinguishing the fire
• Differentiate classes of fire and its appropriate fire
extinguishing agents
• Identify and select the correct equipment to fight the fire if
appropriate and safe to do so
• state what action to take in the event of a fire
• Demonstrate the techniques and proper used to extinguish

All person who wishes to be certificated and learn effective use of Fire Extinguishers, safety and emergency procedure with regards to fire occurrences.
